Puppy Training Foundation Course - Monday Evening 20:15
The next course on Monday evening has a planned start date of Monday 12th January at 8:15pm.
The classes will run at the East Farleigh W.I. Hall.
This course is suitable for dogs up to 6 months of age, if your dog is older than this then our dog school courses or 121s will be more appropriate. Please contact us at john@familydogservices.co.uk and we can send you details of when those courses may be running.
The aim of our classes is to lay the foundation for a well mannered, obedient dog. The course covers basic puppy obedience including loose lead walking, sit, down, stay, leave, not jumping up, recall, appropriate play and handling as well as behavioural advice covering a range of subjects that you may experience with your puppy.
Throughout the course you will also have access to our online training lesson videos, these are packed with information to support training between your classes. This will include the digital version of our best selling loose lead walking and recall training DVD.
We predominantly use reward based training using whatever is your dogs favourite treats, to enable conditioning appropriate behaviours.
Over the course of the 7 weeks we gradually increase the level of distraction/difficulty for each dog only at the rate that they are progressing so that each has the maximum chance of succeeding in each exercise.
Week 1 is a meet and greet without your dog. NOTE: This 1st week's session will be at 7pm.
We will provide you with a welcome pack, explain what will happen over the course, demonstrate exercises that we will be teaching and give you a chance to discuss any issues you may be experiencing.
Week 2 – 7 are practical training sessions with your dog
After purchase we will use the email address you provide for purchase to send you a registration form and your welcome email and homework video links.

Planned dates for this course are: 12th January, 19th January, 26th January, 2nd February, 9th February, 16th February, 23rd February.
Should it be necessary to postpone a class we will text you on the contact number that you provide when you register, an additional lesson will be added as soon as possible to the end of the course.
We regret that if your dog barks through the class then we would have to offer an alternative training option as they are likely to be too stressed to learn.
This is not a course for dogs that are aggressive towards people or other dogs, if this is the case your dog will need 121 training.
