LWDG - Novice Gundog Training Weekend

Family Dog Services will be hosting a 2 day novice training weekend for LWDG

Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September

This weekend is aimed at novice level dogs.

This weekend is open to members of the LWDG only

Dogs should be capable of undertaking marked retrieves, memory retrieves, have good general obedience, and have a basic understanding of directional control (outs and backs) and have a basic understanding of the stop whistle. Dogs should not require a long training line.

The exact criteria covered will depend a little on the dogs but we plan to cover land retrieves, jump retrieves, and stretch the dogs and handlers abilities in all areas of gundog training,  including working with natural barriers, and blind retrieves. We will have access to a small lake so may have the opportunity to retrieve from water.

Refreshments will be provided during the day i.e. tea/coffee/water.

The event will also include dinner (meal only) on the Saturday evening at one of the local pubs.
