LWDG - Foundation Gundog Training Weekend
Family Dog Services will be hosting a 2 day foundation level training weekend for LWDG
Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th April
This weekend is open to members of the LWDG only
This training weekend is aimed at beginner level dogs. Dogs should have a desire to retrieve (doesn't need to be polished) and have some basic obedience skills (doesn't need to be perfect) including walking on a loose lead, recall, sit and stay for a short duration.
The exact criteria covered will depend a little on the dogs but we plan to cover marked retrieves, memory retrieves, hunt whistle, hunting an area, steadiness, hold and delivery, and stop whistle. We will have access to water so may have the opportunity to retrieve or introduce the dogs to water.
Refreshments will be provided during the day i.e. tea/coffee/water.
The event will also include dinner (meal only) on the Saturday afternoon/evening at one of the local pubs or a BBQ.

Dogs must have a good temperament around other dogs and people.
This training weekend is not suitable for dogs who are aggressive towards dogs or people.
This is not suitable for dogs who have behavioural problems (ie resource guarding)
Dogs must be over 6 months of age.
